It Takes a Village

We really love Zahra and how she is inspired to make a difference in the world.

We think she would fit right in here at Community Based Support
😁💚💙💜

A school biology class peaked Zahra’s interest in learning about how our ears work, but it was the village of mentors she met through her interactions with local charities that helped show her the value of her education, and landed her an internship with the world’s leading hearing organisation.

There are many fantastic charities making a difference to the lives of young people and their education. Has a charity – or someone involved with a charity - made a difference in your life, or the life of a young person you know?

Thank them and tell us about it at https://bit.ly/2HdTxzI

Open Future Learning

This is one of the most powerful videos we have seen for a while. It challenges the perceptions that many have about people living with disability. We love it!

The NDIS Commission starts today in Tasmania! It's purpose is to improve the quality and safety of NDIS supports and services. https://www.ndiscommission.gov.au/

The NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission commenced 12 months ago in SA and NSW. It starts today in TAS, QLD, the NT, VIC, and the ACT. On 1 July 2020 when it starts in WA, all states and territories will be covered.

Commissioner Graeme Head said that the roll out “brings us closer to national quality and safeguarding arrangements.”

Hear more from the Commissioner about our role in raising the bar regarding the quality and safety of NDIS supports and services.
