Bus Outings

Bus outings are a great way to keep socially connected in your community.

Community Based Support (CBS) recognises that staying socially connected is an important part of life.

For the past two years, CBS has offered fortnightly bus outings for people in the greater Hobart area.

Each fortnight people under 65 years from the Eastern Shore are collected for outings to interesting destinations. On the alternative fortnight, people aged 65 and over, who live in the Moonah, Glenorchy and New Town areas, are offered the same service.

Participants have visited destinations including Huonville, Oatlands, New Norfolk, Dunalley and Margate, stopping to browse at local shops, visiting places of interest in each area or just relaxed with a coffee while taking in the scenery.

CBS provides a door-to-door service, commencing at 10am, returning at approximately 3pm, and a light lunch is always included.

For more information about this service, please contact program coordinator Tanya Smith (65 and over group) or Anna Sutherland (64 and under group) at CBS on 6208 6600.
